$5M Settlement

Whiting Law Group secured a $5 million settlement for man rear ended by truck driver in a highway. On the evening of December 2, 2017, on Interstate 75 in Macon, GA, plaintiff was rear ended by a semitruck traveling above speed limits in a road construction zone. Plaintiff’s box truck flipped into the adjacent road lane as a result, and caused the plaintiff to be rushed to the emergency room for treatment of the severe injuries sustained. Among the fractures sustained, plaintiff was diagnosed a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) that would subsequently alter his way of life, work and personal relationships.

Whiting Law Group vehemently argued that the driver not only was negligent in failing to reasonably reduce the speed with regard to traffic conditions and keep proper lookout to avoid collision, but that the trucking company was negligent by hiring an unsafe carrier company to haul the freight load.

$2.7M Settlement

Whiting Law Group Attorneys Tim Whiting, Jennifer Rice and Allison Hostetler along with Co-Counsel Daniel J. Kaiser of Kaiser Hafezi Law secured a $2.7 million settlement for the passenger and family of 35-year-old victim killed in fatal truck wreck.

On the night of August 15, 2014, on Interstate 80 in Carbon County, WY, defendant truck driver failed to keep its vehicle below the indicated highway speed limits and failed to reasonably apply breaks before colliding with plaintiff’s van. This caused plaintiff to skid and roll over multiple times off the roadway. Plaintiff sustained fatal injuries and died days later as a result.

Whiting Law Group fought on behalf of the plaintiffs and sued the driver, trucking company, and shipping company for failing to operate a fright truck safely on the roadway, and for negligently hiring an unsafe trucking company.

Through aggressive negotiations, Whiting Law Group was able to settle this matter well above the initial offers made by the defendants. We are content to have brought a successful resolution for the family of the deceased plaintiff, who is survived by both his parents and two sisters.
